offline in roseburg

Yep, I've been almost entirely offline up here. Why? It's these seven garbage bags in the living room by the faux fireplace.

Each is stuffed with crumpled papers. The papers are from the "scan boxes" we hauled up here from Santa Cruz. Each paper has passed through one of three high-end scanners I've set up in a row. Each scanner is hooked to a computer, which accepts the image and saves it over the wireless network to a fourth computer, which compresses the image and copies it to an external hard drive. So for the last three days I've been laying papers into scanners as fast as I my hands can move.

1500 scans so far. Our paperwork beast has met its match.

Wouldn't it be worth your time to get a multi-page scanner with a feed tray? I suppose most consumer ones that are in any reasonable price range are still pretty slow.
