Because of this, Pop and I are mulling the prospect of another trip to Alaska. Seeing the Northern Lights as far south as Fairbanks, this clearly, is apparently a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

I encourage my sisters and brothers-in-law to get in touch with him, and become part of the plan.

So if I am reading between all the science correctly, we're looking at massive auroras in 2010-2011? That gives me a while to plan :)

I saw the Northern Lights in Ely, MN during the summer of 04. They were pretty faint, not colorful at all, but still really cool to watch!

You'll have to ask Pop about that. Last time I left about 95% of the itinerary in his hands. On the drive back through Canada we both agreed that the next trip would try to strike a balance between seeing places we missed or especially liked, and making it possible for other family members to participate. But I still defer to him as the main planner.
