From an email that Android wrote in 1999:

" It used to be that people were friendly enough that it was possible to meet people anywhere and everywhere you went, all throughout your day. Now, people think you're some kind of freak if you just come up out of nowhere in the middle of a department store or on the street and introduce yourself. Back in the 1800's, you were a rude little asshole if you didn't go around introducing yourself, especially to ladies. This is one backwards century, that's for sure. "

Of course, in the 1800s social norms were different in a lot of negative ways, too. Women were considered property of the married man. Blacks WERE property of white man. The formality of self-introduction went along with the formality of ankles being too much to reveal, and suits, ties and hats being necessary for all activities.

I think I prefer today.

I dunno... I could do with seeing less of most people's bodies (I live in Los Angeles)...

Unrelated comment: the link to the new BDM album is dead. It needs to be changed to the right filename to get it to work. Share and enjoy
