The standard air pressure test for car and truck tires is to draw a chalk line across the tread, then drive forward a bit.

Check the tread and see how the chalk is wearing. If the chalk line is worn evenly then you're just right. Worn more in the middle is a sign of over-inflation, and worn more on the edges means you're under-inflated.
