The "bite me" attitude and regard for moderation makes this the most enjoyable for me, as a vegetarian who's had each and every one of these issues come up. I've often noticed that people pull out their agenda as soon as they know I don't eat meat, hoping to drill a hole in an argument I haven't made.

Yeah, that's happened to me a few times already, thus the manifesto. The earlier drafts were much ruder. :)

I showed it to mah honey, and she says, "Well done. It didn't offend me, like the earlier drafts."

Indeed! I wasn't offended, nor do I think any sane, logical people would be =) It even inspired me to write my mini-manifesto on being an American (http://www.insignifica.org/archives/2003_07.shtml#001577)
