Nov. 19th, 2002 01:10 amThe start of my first real work-week in Santa Cruz. A nondescript day, really, except for one thing. Local housecat "Fuzzy Butt" wandered in last night and curled up at my side, and for the first time in a long time, I slept with a cat warming the bed. It was the perfect counterpoint to the nippy wet Santa Cruz air. Yes, that's the name. "Fuzzy Butt".
I was at work for eleven hours today, and when I finally left for dinner, my best option was the Saturn Cafe. A stranger saw my They Might Be Giants shirt, and stopped at my table and said, "That is the best shirt ever!!". I combined the Fine Burger with the Middle Eastern Plate, making one huge sandwich, which went down well.
Then I drove up the coast looking for the supposed meteor shower, listening to the Conjure One album (almost all the lyrics are terrible, but the music is lovely), but I never found it. By the time I got back to the apartment, I felt completely exhausted. I mean, yow. I've really gotta sleep now. So I'm folding up the laptop. 'Night, all.
