Young people nowadays love artists I don't know and don't give a crap about. I don't know the difference between Rihanna, Beyoncé, Adele, Alicia Keys, Kehlani, Kygo, Quavo, Khalid, Gucci Mane, Kodie Shane, Kodak Black, Fetty Wap, Aminé, Shamwou, Goapele, G-Eazy, Tekno, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty, Drake, Daddy Yankee, Zayn, 2 Chainz, Ty Dolla $ign, Joey Bada$$, and Wiz Kalifa*.

Lately the best time I've had from musicians is the little 4-piece bluegrass band that plays at the Baja Taqueria on Mondays.

*Only one of those is a made up name. Can you guess which?

I assumed that you would inject something witty and clever in the list, maybe dead-center in the middle, or two-thirds of the way through. When I skimmed the names the first time, I didn't see it, so I moved on...

But I reloaded my feed a few days later, and reread the list, this time pronouncing the names in my head. And when I got to Shamwou, I thought, "Hey, isn't that an internet meme, about a towel ... ?"



Then I posted my comment. A few days later, with no response, I Googled "Shamwou", and when nothing substantial appeared in the results, I figured it had to be the winner!

If I didn't know my own list, my second guess would have been "Fetty Wap", because it sounds less like a musician than something you'd buy on a street corner for a buck, maybe after a night of barhopping when you're starving and too drunk to have any common sense... "Fetty wap; hey that sounds good..." *chomp* (One day later: Emergency room.)
