Since reading this article, and ruminating on it a while, I decided to ramp my sugar consumption way down and see how it treats me. I have to say, it's been treating me well.
Though I already knew about the predominance of sugar in American food and its connection to an obesity "epidemic", I never thought about the nature of the connection. I assumed it was just a matter of volume. But it it's really a matter of intensity...

Date: 2007-07-13 08:30 am (UTC)I don't recommend staying on it long term. I recommend realizing you probably need about half the food most Americans seem to be eating, and if you eat the RIGHT half, you stand a good chance of not being hungry enough to miss the other half.
