I just got a spam trying to get me to invest money in stock for company. The spam claims "this company is going to take off like a rocket"! "Hurry, jump on now before it takes off!"

After another page of this yarping and hooting, I found a paragraph tacked onto the bottom of the email in small print:

"None of the material within this report shall be construed as any kind of investment advice or solicitation. Many of these small companies are on the verge of bankruptcy. You can lose all your m0ny by in-ves ting in this st0c k. In compliance with the Securi ties Act of 19 33, Sec tion 17(b),The publisher of this newsletter is contracted to receive thirty thousand do11ars from a third party, not an officer, director or affiliate shareholder for the circulation of this report. The party that pays us has a position in the stock they intend to sell now. This could cause the stoc k to go down, resulting in losses for you."

This confirms my belief that the only people who get paid in the spamming business are the spammers themselves - not the people who make the products, and not the people who buy them. Both those groups lose money. What a horrible, horrible con.

If I knew where these spam houses operated, I'd personally walk over there and pee in their server racks.
