Wow. I remember seeing a few episodes of that show, and being totally engrossed. I vaguely remember something about a giant flying metal bird, and a stone city crumbling into a lava pit and a gold city rising out of it. What intrigued me was the mysticism behind the story (or at least what vague notion of it I could have had at that age... what was I, six or seven years old?). At the time, my favorites were thing like the Neverending Story.
Occasionally over the years something would remind me of that show, but I never knew what it was called, I only had a vague memory of it. I've always been curious to watch it again, though.
Of course, I thought He-Man and the Transformers were fine examples of excellent storytelling, because I was a small person with a small brain. Having watched that stuff again recently has revealed that I would truly watch anything so long as it was on TV. Heck, I enjoyed televized golf when I was that age. TV was all and it was good.
(I did get outside and play in the fresh air a lot, too...)
