The "bite me" attitude and regard for moderation makes this the most enjoyable for me, as a vegetarian who's had each and every one of these issues come up. I've often noticed that people pull out their agenda as soon as they know I don't eat meat, hoping to drill a hole in an argument I haven't made.

I've decided that I can't really label my own diet, which is basically vegetarian/vegan, so I've taken to telling people that "I'm vegan -- except when I eat meat." This always gets a laugh.
Heh. My favorite way of putting it is, "It's not that want to save the animals. I just HAAATE PLAANTS. I MUST EAT THEM ALLLL." (crazed expression)
Perhaps it's familiar because these questions get asked of vegans and vegetarians all the time? I wrote it stream-of-consciousness, then mixed it up so the order of the questions was more coherent.
