At this point I have to ask: If I want to get to a machine on the network, why is it that I have to first open the "My Computer" icon in the start menu, and then select "My Network Places", then "Workgroup", from a tiny list of crap in a column on the left?

window key + r

\\servername

enter

Yeah, windows sucks. But I've found that regardless of what OS you use, if you use one long enough, you learn every last shortcut key and timesaving trick. I've gotten so used to Windows that I can do just about anything in it really fast. I used to be that way on a Mac, but my last mac ran OS 8, so I've kind of been left behind.

It's funny, the one thing that always bugs me on OS X is there's no quick way to make a window take up the whole screen. I know about the little plus in the titlebar, but that doesn't always maximize the window to take up the whole screen.

Anyway, your blow by blow reminded me of why 3.8 years of doing that shit was more than enough. I'm really glad I moved on. Maybe you should, too.
